Alacero acts as a platform that brings together Latin American steel industry, and also help improve the region's positioning in today's global scenario by attending to global forums and interacting with world entities.

More specifically, Alacero interacts closely with these entities:

Twice a year Alacero participates in the OECD Steel Committee were it gives an outlook of the Latin American steel industry, taking position on relevant issues and advising the participating governments on trade frictions.
  Alacero has developed a close relation of cooperation with worldsteel and an active participation in worldsteel committees, representing the Latin American region. Alacero is actively collaborating with committees on economy, economic forecasts, environmental policies, safety and health, sustainability, technology and environment, energy management and improvement of raw materials. Also, Alacero serve as an official ambassador of steeluniversity, a e-learning system for steel.
National steel entities
Alacero has developed an extensive network of contacts in Latin America to gather information, develop studies and partnership activities. In particular, close interaction with:
• The Argentinean Steel Chamber, Argentina
• The Brazilian Steel Institute, Brazil,
• National Association of Industrialists, Colombia,
• The Ecuadorian Federation of Metal Industries, Ecuador
• The National Chamber of Iron and Steel, Mexico
• The Venezuelan Steel Institute, Venezuela
Entities promoting the use of steel
Alacero maintains contacts with various national institutions in the region in order to promote the use of steel, mainly for construction, as the application with major growth potential in the region.
• Brazilian Center for Steel Construction (CBCA)
• The Mexican Institute of Steel Construction (IMCA)
• Chilean Steel Institute (ICHA)
On the other hand, maintains close contact with the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) through specific agreements such as corporative access to the electronic publications that allows the regional structure specialists consult the large AISC technical information. There is also an agreement to make the Spanish version of the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, which is the regional normative reference, available free of charge for the structuralists and for writers organizations that provides rules and standards.
Universities
Alacero maintains contacts and work with the following universities:
• Universidad de Chile: Engineering and architecture
• Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María: Engineering.
• Universidad Nacional de Cuyo: Engineering.
• Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: Economy.
Regional technical Institutes
There is a strong relationship with the steel technical institutes of the region, promoting its activities and facing common projects:
• Argentinean Steel Institute
• Brazilian Association of Metals and Ores
