The Latin American Association pursues the following objectives:

• Study the economic, statistical, trade, technical, and scientific aspects of steel production and its raw materials;
  
  
• Look after the general interests of the regional steel and ferroalloys industry, establishing links with the government of each Latin American country;
  
  
• To promote contacts between the leaders of member companies in a straightforward and comprehensive manner, in order to encourage cooperation and integration between industries and the integration of Latin American steel and ferroalloys industries;
  
  
• To promote the exchange and dissemination of information on the technical, economic, financial, and statistical aspects or any other nature of interest for the iron and steel sector;
  
  
• To collaborate on initiatives aimed at facilitating the efforts of steel and ferroalloys industries and to contribute to a better staff training, improving quality and productivity and environment preservation;
  
  
• Promote and disseminate of the steel usage in Latin America and the rest of the world and,
  
  
• Develop all actions and sign every contract towards, directly or indirectly, the fulfillment of the Association´s objectives.
